Only a nurse can drug you cut your clothes off tie you down shirt, long sleeve tee and v-neck
Great piece of assessment in the job. Nurse or Patient Manager appeals greatly- great phrase- kudos to whomever thought of that. Only a nurse can drug you cut your clothes off tie you down. My career is Nurse and take health care for patients.
I’m a new graduate nurse. Last week on my shift, I was caring for a patient not much older than myself. I entered his room to find he had just woken from a nap and was shivering, pale, agitated, and telling me he felt really cold. I prepped some paracetamol and explained he needed to leave his blankets off. However, something continued to nag at me. Nurses will know this weighted feeling. “Something isn’t right” I thought. His head felt warm. There wasn’t really a clear cut reason for this. Both the doctors and myself were mystified – his condition should not have prompted that sudden crash. Only a nurse can drug you cut your clothes off tie you down. A sugar crash that isn’t treated can lead to seizures, loss of consciousness and even death. Due to that nagging voice, my patient received the necessary care promptly and further decline was prevented.

This is not a brag. This is nothing out of the ordinary. This is our role, our responsibility, and a daily occurrence for all nurses – recognise the bad stuff early and manage appropriately to prevent worsening health of the patient. We’re doing this day in and day out for your mother/grandfather/son/aunty, assessing for any minor yet significant changes that could indicate something seriously wrong is occurring. But we don’t just do it for you. Only a nurse can drug you cut your clothes off tie you down. We’re doing it for four (or five, or six) other patients too, constantly juggling and prioritising their health needs along with yours. Unsafe staffing and a high patient load means we are more likely to miss those subtle changes, compromising your family member’s safety.
